MATCH REPORT: SCARBOROUGH ATHLETIC (A)
3 days on from King’s Lynn home win against Marine, the Linnets took the long trip up to Scarborough, where they left it late to snatch a point in a 1-1 draw.

Scarborough gave Lynn a scare in the opening stages as a counter attack left the Linnets open and a dangerous ball into the box from Jack Waldron found Dom Tear who fluffed his lines in front of an open net in what was a huge let off for the visitors.

The first half was a particularly difficult one for Lynn, as the pitch conditions and physical nature of Scarborough’s play made it difficult for Lynn to play the football they wanted.

The Linnets did have a couple of good moments in the first half, with a nice team passing move finding Terry Bondo in the box, however his shot was easily claimed by the man in the Scarborough goal.

The home side always looked a threat from set plays and in the 27th minute, they opened the scoring. As Luca Colville latched onto a free kick that went all the way through the Linnets defence to give the home side the lead.

The Linnets tried to respond as new signing Carlton Ubezuonu used to his strength brilliantly to create a chance for himself. However this shot once again was easily claimed by Scarborough keeper, as Lynn went into the break behind.

The second half started rather slowly for both sides. However in the 52nd minute, Lynn thought they were level. As a a delightful ball from Jayden Davis found the boot of Ross Crane, who found the net. However the flag went up and the search for the equaliser went on.

King’s Lynn looked to be able to play their football far more in the second half than they did in the first. With their best bits of play coming down the left hand side. As Simone Troso and Jayden Davis looked to cause some real problems.

However as the second half wore on, Scarborough’s physical nature turned the game into a battle once more and as time wore on, it looked like Lynn were heading for a defeat.

However, in the 92nd minute of injury time King’s Lynn found a way through. As a deflected pass through from Festus Arthur found the path of Adam Marriott who struck the ball through the legs of the keeper. As the two substitutes combined to give the away side a well earned point.

There was even more late drama in injury time. As Scarborough went down to the 10, as Luca Colville was shown a straight red after a stamp on Tom Wilson.

A massive thank you to our travelling fans who made the long journey up to Scarborough! Your incredible support is always greatly appreciated.

The boys are back on the road again this Saturday as they face AFC Fylde
